How it works
Rotate the wheel until the original song key appears on the left
Look across the front to see which fret positions allow you to use familiar chord families.
Place your capo at the position that feels most comfortable and start playing.
If a certain chord family doesn’t create a practical option within the first few frets, that window is intentionally left blank.
This tool is designed to prioritize real-world playability.

The Capo Guide
Find the right capo position.Change the key without changing how you play.
The Chordii Capo Guide is a small rotating tool that helps guitar players quickly see where to place a capo so they can stay in familiar chord families (G-shapes, C-shapes, D-shapes, etc.)
Instead of guessing during rehearsal or doing mental math between songs, you simply rotate the wheel to the original song key. The front windows then show the practical fret positions where those common chord shapes will work.
If a certain option doesn’t make sense within the first few frets, that window is intentionally left blank. This tool focuses on real playing situations, not every theoretical possibility.
How the front actually works (important)
Those letters on the front (G, C, D, A, E) are not individual chords. They are chord families — meaning a full set of chords in a new key.
When you choose one, you’re not just playing a G chord. You’re stepping into the “G world” — where all your chords follow the G shapes you already know.
So instead of thinking: “Play a G chord”
Think: “Play the song using G-shape chords”
That means:
G shape = your 1 chord
C shape = your 4 chord
D shape = your 5 chord
Em shape = your 6 chord
The tool is showing you how to change keys without changing how you play
Guitarists who want faster key changes in rehearsal
Bass players or electric players who occasionally grab an acoustic
Anyone who has ever wished every song could just be played in G

This Capo Guide is a great resource for playing songs in different keys using familiar chord progressions. No guesswork just dial in the key you want and quickly get where to place the capo and what chord patterns to play in. Made of a rugged plastic material that won't tear or degrade over time. Excellent product, worth every penny!
Chordii's products are extremely useful and high-quality. They have helped me so much in making music and transposing in real time! I take my wheel everywhere!
My Cordii arrived a few days ago and I am very pleased with it. It is very well made and I’m certain that someone wanting a tool like this one will be very pleased with it’s build quality and it’s ease of use.
The graphics on the instructions do not match the actual unit which is confusing. I have designated today to trying to figure the unit out. Will have a better handle on the situation then.
Store owner replied:
Hey, John! Thanks for the feedback. I've updated the instruction page so it's easier to navigate and find what you're looking for.
Nice addition to my chordii collection. The recesses on the turning wheel meant to help spin to different keys are too smooth. The only way I can turn the wheel is to pinch it between my fingers. If you made the wheel to spin with less resistance, then maybe the recesses in the wheel would be sufficient. Otherwise nice!
Store owner replied:
Thanks so much, Stuart!
And that’s great feedback. The recesses were originally designed just to catch the internal springs for positioning, not necessarily as a grip. It was always intended to be more of a pinch-and-spin or thumbwheel feel.
That said, you’re absolutely right. I can dial in the tolerances so it spins a bit easier, which should make those recesses more useful in practice.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share that. It helps me keep improving these.
It’s great and very helpful! Would love to see it work for guitars tuned a half step down.
I have never been very good at using my capo. The light bulb just went on, I get it. Thank you Brian S
chordii... I am just learning about the Nashville Numbering System. I have Neal Matthews excellent book. I think, I can see how chordii will help. Here's the suggestion, not every customer is 20/30 years old. Improve the web site explanation, and assuming all your customers "scan" a big mistake. Include a way better "how to use" guide, Brian S
Store owner replied:
Brian — I really appreciate you taking the time to write this. And I’m grateful to hear that the light bulb started to come on for you. That’s the whole reason I built Chordii.
I also want to genuinely thank you for the honest feedback. You’re right. I’m a solo founder and product designer first, and sometimes I get so focused on creating and launching the tool itself that I don’t slow down enough to clearly teach what I actually built or how to use it step-by-step. That’s on me, and it’s something I’m actively working to improve.
Your point about not every customer wanting to just “scan” the site is a really important reminder. I want Chordii to serve players of all ages and learning styles, especially those who are taking the time to truly understand music theory.
Thanks again for the encouragement and for helping me make this better.

I love it! A really quick tool that shows the proper capo position for any given key to accommodate your favorite chord shapes.
Well, I'm no player, but at 77 yrs old and just learning the harmonic circles for a specific key, then I can fret the guitar so I can play it in the key I know. Does that makes sense?
Store owner replied:
Thank you so much for the 5-star review! I really appreciate it. That’s great feedback about instructions and examples. I was honestly just excited to get the new product out into players’ hands and launched before I had everything fully ready.
I’m putting together a simple guide now and will email you a copy as soon as it’s done.
